Sue is a psychologist with 25 years of experience in helping to bring positive change in the lives of those she works with. Sue works with people facing a variety of issues, seeking to meet the challenges of their personal and professional lives.

Performance Coach

Dr. Sue Jackson was one of the first academic researchers to investigate the state of flow in high performance settings. Flow is that feeling of losing yourself in a task where you do your best work.  Sue has dedicated her career to helping others to find this flow, and to help enable them to perform at their best.

Organisational Training

Developing performance psychology skills in your team can improve productivity, organisation, and performance. Sue is experienced in trainings designed to help participants apply optimal mental states in their work.

Workshops & Classes

Sue speaks passionately on positive psychology, flow state, mindfulness, and values-driven perspectives. Sue currently runs meditation mini-retreats aimed at completely relaxing, a mindfulness practice group, and tailor-made training programs for organisations and individuals interested in developing mindfulness, awareness, and flow.

Dr Sue Jackson

Brisbane Psychologist | Expert in Flow & Performance

Dr. Sue Jackson is a Brisbane Psychologist recognized internationally as an expert in flow state research in performance, co-authoring the foundational book, Flow in Sports: The Keys to Optimal Experiences and Performances’ with flow founder, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. Dr. Sue Jackson completed her PhD on flow research at the University of North-Carolina-Greensboro. She is now recognised as an industry expert in flow research and performance psychology. Sue consults for various flow centred organisations and works with individual clients looking to unlock their best performance.

Sue has a strong and diverse background of training, and a real interest in making a positive difference to real-world challenges. Sue guides clients to uncover what they want to achieve, and develop strategies to make it happen.

Clinical Yoga Therapy for Healthy Sleep

This is an immersive experience delving into understanding the biomedical and traditional foundations of sleep health, how they comparatively support each other and how each perspective can offer those who suffer from sleep dept to find a good night sleep. This session is aimed at introducing the most vital aspects of yogic wisdom and insight and imbedding new knowledge by understanding sleep from a neurophysiological perspective.

We will be exploring:

The importance of sleep, and a definition of sleep health
The definition and the impact of sleep dept
How a lack of sleep effects memory and cognitive function
How and why yoga and mindfulness meditation are proven to help
How and why traditional yoga aligns with a biomedical and neuroscientific perspective

Meditations for Lucid Dreaming

This is an immersive experience of guided meditations specifically refined for opening avenues to lucid dreaming, which is proven to be an effective way to manage night time sleep insufficiencies. This session is aimed at moving towards awakening in all aspects of holistic well-being and literally become inherently mindful and meditative in the dream states.

We will be exploring:

What lucid dreaming is.
How and why lucid dreaming can be a restorative practice.
How to move towards awakening within the dream state.
An emergent experience of specific meditations designed to facilitate experiential understanding of therapeutic technique.

This is an immersive experience of the ancient teachings of meditation formed into the modern practice of iRest. With foundations based in thirty years of observation, research and hands-on development by Dr Richard Miller and associates, iRest is an evidence-based transformative practice that can enhance psychological, physical, and spiritual well-being. This session is aimed at healing any unresolved issues and traumas that are present, enabling a recognition of innate peace of mind, as well as the ability to adapt to the flux of circumstances present in life.

Yoga Nidra for Mental Health

This is an immersive experience of the physical and mental relaxation technique of Yoga Nidra. Literally meaning Yogic Sleep, this technique brings about a conscious, deep, and dynamic state that takes place between various levels of consciousness. This session is aimed at understanding how Yoga Nidra can assist in cultivating a greater ability to relax and more holistically balanced traits of mental health.

We will be exploring:

How to teach students to consciously explore the waking state, the dreaming state, the sleeping state, and how to experience all three collectively.
Understanding and teaching brain wave patterning and common states of mind related to such patterns
How to impart evidenced based research into Yoga Nidra

How to deliver a basic practice of Yoga Nidra

We welcome you to join three conversant yogic teachers and therapists as they share their adept practice wisdom with you and bring you a weekend dedicated to improving your holistic well-being through healthy sleep habits.

At the end of this 13-hour face-to-face weekend you will be provided with materials for reading as well as a BIYOME certificate of completion. This course is intended to provide you will a substantial knowledge base in yoga therapy – this however does not qualify you as a yoga therapist. We use the term “therapy” as a reference to varied methodologies that enable well-being.
