Individual counselling with Sue involves helping you to think more effectively, manage stress better, and move toward what is important in your life. Skills training in mindfulness and acceptance facilitate better confidence, enhanced performance, and greater resilience to stress and negativity. The focus in our sessions can be on developing action plans to help you move towards your already identified goals, or on collaboratively working out strategies to assist you in meeting your unique life’s challenges.
Psychology consultations can attract private health fund or Medicare rebates for certain conditions or situations. I am a registered provider of focused psychology strategies with Medicare’s Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative, and a registered provider for private health funds. To learn whether a Medicare Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is applicable to your situation, speak to your GP. With a MHCP, you are eligible for 10 psychology sessions per year. Rebates are available for both face-to-face and telehealth (online) psychology counselling sessions.

My counselling work draws on several psychological approaches, including Flow, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and iRest yoga nidra™. These are evidence-based approaches that have been demonstrated to be effective for a range of clinical conditions and life challenges.
Individual counselling sessions focus on helping you reach your full potential and improve the way you respond to stress. I bring strong listening skills to counselling sessions, to facilitate understanding you, and what you want. I will work with you on developing individually-appropriate strategies to achieve your specific goals.
I am available for counselling by appointment from Bardon in Brisbane. I am also available at Lilley Place Indooroopilly. For appointments at Lilley Place, please telephone (07) 3378 9130; existing clients at Lilley Place can also book online.
Online consultations are available, via Zoom, WhatsApp, or telephone, in addition to in-person consultations for all clients.

What to Expect at Your First Session
Individual psychology counselling sessions are typically 50-60 minutes in duration and are payable at the time of consultation.
Extended consultations are available at Bardon for clients wishing to incorporate longer meditation or relaxation practices into their session. Ask Sue when you book if you would like an extended consultation. Additional fees apply.
If you have a Mental Health Care Plan referral from your GP, a standard Medicare rebate of $89.65 is available. Alternatively, private health rebates may be available, depending on your level of extras cover.
