Counselling for Mindful Living
Learn a different approach to working with your thoughts and feelings, manage stress better, and enjoy your experiences more fully. Individual counselling with Sue involves helping you to think more effectively, manage stress better, and move toward what is important in your life. Skills training in mindfulness and acceptance facilitate better confidence, enhanced performance, and greater resilience to stress and negativity. The focus in our sessions can be on developing action plans to help you move towards your already identified goals, or on collaboratively working out strategies to assist you in meeting your unique life’s challenges.
Psychology consultations can attract private health fund or Medicare rebates for certain conditions or situations. I am a registered provider of focused psychology strategies with Medicare’s Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative. Both individual and group psychology sessions are available through this scheme. To learn whether this is a relevant option for you, speak to your doctor about whether a GP Mental Health Care Plan is applicable to your situation. With a Mental Health Care Plan, you are eligible for up to 10 psychology sessions (10 individual & 10 group) per year. Please note that Medicare rebates are generally only available for face-to-face counselling. However, online (e.g., Skype) sessions are available for those living in regional, rural, and remote areas of Australia.
My counselling work draws on several psychological approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and iRest yoga nidra™. These are evidence-based approaches that have been demonstrated to be effective for a range of clinical conditions and life challenges.
Individual counselling sessions focus on helping you reach your full potential and improve the way you respond to stress. I bring strong listening skills to counselling sessions, to facilitate understanding you, and what you want. I will work with you on developing individually-appropriate strategies to achieve your specific goals.

I am available for counselling in Brookfield and Allsports Indooroopilly. I am also available via phone or Skype from anywhere in the world.
Initial appointments are 75-90minutes and cost $235. Subsequent appointments are $180 for 60min session. If you have a Mental Health Care Plan referral from your GP, a standard rebate of $84.80 is available, bringing the gap to $95.20 per session. Alternatively, private health rebates may be available, depending on your level of cover.
